Artemisia Gentileschi, “ Self-portrait as the Allegory of Painting”
John Singer Sargent, “Gassed”
Alice Neel, “ SelfPortrait”
Charles Burchfield, any late fantasy watercolor landscape
and I’d serve myself tea from the Oscar Wilde Teapot.
What books would you read/are you reading in your drawing room?
I’m just about to finish Daniel Silva, “The Rembrandt Affair”, one of the Gabriel Allon series. I’d also have books by Robert B.Parker, Lee Child, Michael Connelly, the Maggody serie by Joan Hess, and Sue Grafton’s the Alphabet series.
What movies would you watch/are you watching in your drawing room?
Anything by Preston Sturges....but I must have my favorite one, “The Lady Eve”.
What music would you listen to/are you listening to in your drawing room?
I’m working my way through all my dvds of Wagners Ring Cycle at the moment.
Who would you/do you invite into your drawing room?
I’d invite into my drawing room, to chat and gossip, my artist friend Bob Lostutter.
